Assaf, a 16-year-old boy, is asked to locate the owner of a dog found wandering the streets of Jerusalem. The dog leads him from place to place through the story of Tamar. Tamar, a lonely and troubled girl, has set out on a dangerous mission to save her brother, who has become entangled in a dark affair.

 

Someone to Run With, one of the most beloved books among readers in Israel and winner of the 2001 Sapir Prize for Literature, has previously been adapted into a television series and a feature film.

 

With masterful skill, David Grossman crafts a coming-of-age journey that evolves into a story of a one-of-a-kind first love.
