For the first time — Krum by Hanoch Levin as an opera!

A masterpiece of the timeless voice of Israeli playwriting, “Krum” brings together bitter humor and the quiet sorrow of human existence. Now reimagined in a bold new musical interpretation by Avi Benjamin — a celebrated composer and co-founder of Gesher Theatre.

Written in 1975 — exactly 50 years ago — the play's central dilemma feels strikingly familiar:

Krum returns to his hometown after a failed journey abroad, only to find himself surrounded by the bleak reality — a world of small lives and grand, unfulfilled dreams.

The production is accompanied by a live orchestra.

Premiere: June 19, 2025

Venue: Duhl Hall, 37 David Tidhar Street, Tel Aviv
