I AM DANIIL KHARMS

I AM DANIIL KHARMS

I AM DANIIL KHARMS

In the period when a man equaled a number, in the period when man fell asleep with only one dream – to wake up the next morning, in the period when theater was revolutionary and revolution was well made theater, a "genius" was born – who dreamt of being Sherlock Holmes and called himself Kharms, who dreamt of a new language with which he would create an illogical world for him and his wives, a man who insisted on dreaming even in his last moments in a far off prison cell.

During the work process we collected a variety of stories, songs, sketches, segments of diaries and letters and we wove them into one play which describes the humorous and tragic world of Daniil Kharms. By way of a world in motion rich with music we investigate and discover the way in which these absurd texts, written at the beginning of the previous century, are still relevant today, where they meet us and what story they recount.
